Course Description:

This course provides for training and a process/mechanism for follow on training for the Air Liaison Officer (ALO) training pipeline. Course includes physical training, AFSC history, joint service organization, functional fitness/nutrition, mission and Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) communications equipment. This is a prerequisite course for the TACP Apprentice Course which ALOs will also attend.

Prerequisites:

Must have a valid civilian driver┐s license; comply with the Ground Based Aircraft Controller Medical Standards according to AFI 48-123; no speech impediment or any physical limitations
preventing students from participating in a rigorous physical training program and meeting and maintaining worldwide mobility criteria.

TACP/ALO PAST Criteria

If an ALO fails to meet the TACP/ALO PAST standards, they will be administered their age/gender AF PT test standards. If the ALO passes the AF PT test, they will continue in training.

This test is comprised of four weighed events and must be conducted in the order listed below.

All four PAST events must be successfully in order to pass the test.

NOTE: The TACP/ALO PAST requirements are designed to test for a minimum fitness level necessary to insure safety. ALO candidates must train throughout their application process to
exceed these minimums in order to enhance their chances of success in the TACP/ALO training process.

Physical Conditioning

All students must comply, at a minimum, with AFI 36-2905, Fitness Program. Additional PT requirements listed in custom paragraphs will take precedence.
