chanceum89, I walked into my recruiters office as a prior service/current reservist and it took me 8 months to clear everything.

Remember that the recruiters will only submit your application once all the boxes are checked. That means that you have to submit and get a waiver for law violations (I had to submit one for something that happened in 11 years ago), any medical waivers, pass the PAST test, clear a MEPS physical (again I know its redundant as prior service but that's how the game is played). And complete anything else that they need you to sign off on.

As I was told by my recruiter. Your application is going to be sent up all the way to the Career Filed Manager. Once there, he makes the determination if you would be a successful PJ trainee. Once your application hits the CFM you will usually get a response in 14 days.

Be patient and keep on your recruiter us the time to train (don't loose focus as it is easy as your application seems to be stuck on one thing or the other). Often times its not your recruiter that is holding things up but the OPS group above him or somebody at MEPS. Stay positive and know that this is not a quick process. But once your application gets approved by the CFM everything will start moving very fast.

bowldsy - Thank you for the quick response, it's good to know there was someone in the same situation as I am. I guess all I can do is be patient and keep on keepin on.

my understanding is that all candidates regardless of rank/grade applying for retraining will now be attending the same phase II selection and assessment course that Combat Rescue Officer candidates attend at hurby.

Chanceum89,

I started this process last April as a prior service, ANG guy. Just today I received confirmation of my dates for the May Dev/indoc course. I had waivers to clear also. I was lucky and did not have to do the phase II assessment, but was required to pass a second PAST to be cleared for acceptance into indoc.

Keep training and good luck
