The 306th Rescue Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson AZ, will conduct an assessment on Friday, August 25th, 2017 to screen for potential PJ and CRO candidates.

If you wish to attend, you will need to be fully prepared to meet the physical standards detailed in the attached "PJ-CRO Letter 30JUL14 + PAST Standards" PDF. Strong candidates will exceed these standards. If you cannot meet the minimum standards, continue to train until the next assessment opportunity.

Additionally, in order to be allowed to attend our selection, you will need to be an Active Duty, Guard, or Reserve member of any service branch (IRR does not count), OR if you are a Civilian, your Local Air Force Reserve Recruiter will need to process you though MEPS and determine that you are 100% eligible, both physically and administratively, to enlist in the Air Force Reserve.

Lastly, you will need to send in your application package per the instruction in the attached "PJ-CRO Letter 30JUL14 + PAST Standards" PDF. Send that in as a complete package.

Once you contact me with your intent to attend, submit your application, and have your Air Force Reserve Recruiter contact me to assure me of your full eligibility (if civilian) then you will be invited to the assessment. Once invited, I will provide you with instructions on where to be, when, and a gear list. If you pass the selection and are offered a position, the 306th RQS will work with you and your recruiter to finalize the process of enlistment.

Feel free to contact me through Phone or email with any questions.

The Friday, 11 Aug 2017 Tryout will be moved to Friday, 25 Aug 2017 to account for Squadron Taskings. All requirements to attend remain the same.

The above post has been edited to reflect the new training date.

The 306th RQS held its assessment on 25 Aug 2017. Two candidates were selected and will soon begin the Pararescue Training Pipeline. Good job to both of them.

The next 306th tryout will be held in approximately the March 2018 timeframe.
